Backbone of each Octomore series, the 15.1 is the base from which the other expressions alternate and evolve. Peated to 108.2 PPM, distilled from 100% Scottish barley and aged in a combination of bourbon barrels and specially re-toasted bourbon barrels. Demonstrating refined character, balancing creamy vanilla-flavored custard notes and soft roasted oak with a capiteous peat smoke.

Nose: The nose opens with vivid notes of caramel and citrus fruits, delicately enveloped in Octomore’s dry, earthy peat smoke. Notes of anise, vanilla and creamy custard follow, with tropical fruits, geranium and a hint of ginger completing the sweet malt.

Palate: The immediate warmth in the mouth is balanced by dry, sweet malt and earthy smoke. A refreshing blend of mango, banana and apricot jam crosses the capiteous peat, beautifully rounded by vanilla custard and caramel. A drop of water allows the smoke to open up and brings subtle marine and warm sand notes.

Finish: The peat smoke, vanilla and softly charred oak settle in the finish, with a marine freshness full of vitality.
