The Glenmorangie 12 Years The Accord is an excellent Scottish single malt. The traditional Glenmorangie distillery is one of the most renowned single malt distilleries in the world and one of the favorite whisky brands among Scots. It is located in the northern Highlands of Scotland, near the Dornoch estuary, close to the famous Dornoch Castle.

The Glenmorangie 12 Years The Accord is made from unmalted barley, making it non-peated. This single malt has matured in two types of casks, giving it a complex aromatic profile. Part of the whisky has aged in American white oak bourbon casks. These impart delicate vanilla notes and sweetness to the malt, while giving it a smooth character thanks to natural filtration in the cask. The bourbon casks are charred on the inside, creating a natural carbon layer on the inner walls. Over the years, this filters out undesirable elements from the whisky, making it rounder and softer. The other part of the whisky has also aged for 12 years in old Oloroso sherry casks. Thanks to the dry Spanish sherry aging, the casks absorbed aromas of raisins, dried fruits, and fine spices. These aromas have been transferred to Glenmorangie 12 Years The Accord during maturation. This whisky was originally designed for Travel Retail, which explains the generous 1-liter bottle.
