CROWN ROYAL FINE DE LUXE 1L

Crown Royal is produced in Waterloo, Ontario, but in 1992 production was moved to the Gimli distillery on the western shore of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, at the center of the country.

Crown Royal is a Canadian rye whisky; however, its originality lies in its composition, resulting from blending 50 whiskies aged 10 to 30 years, making it a “blend rye.” For production, it uses source waters filtered by limestone around Lake Winnipeg.

The distillation process employs the Coffey still method (developed by Irishman Aeneas Coffey in 1830): column stills, the same as Scotch. Crown Royal thus uses an original technique, unprecedented in North America.

Tasting: the whisky reveals an antique gold color. The nose is soft and finely woody, with notes of fruit, spices, and cereals. The palate is round and delicate and coherent with the nose. The finish is slightly sweet and rather long.
