The refinement of a Saint-Julien red wine from Château Talbot

The Estate

A Fourth Growth (4ème Cru Classé) in the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Talbot is one of the Médoc's most iconic estates. Acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1918, the property is now managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon.

The Vineyard

Château Talbot's vineyard is a remarkable single-block estate covering 110 hectares in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, with 97.6 hectares dedicated to the Grand Vin. The vines, averaging 43 years of age, enjoy an exceptional location near the Gironde Estuary, where they thrive on the renowned Médoc alluvial gravel soils.

Winemaking and Aging

The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo successive manual and optical sorting before being vinified in wooden vats. The wine is then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new, enhancing both its structure and complexity.

Blend

Château Talbot 2020 is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot.
