Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve Champagne
The Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve Champagne follows in the footsteps of the Brut Réserve while asserting a bolder and more distinctive personality. Crafted exclusively from the first pressing, this blended rosé captivates with its balance of generosity, finesse, and complexity. Aged for 3 to 4 years in the House’s millennial chalk cellars (Crayères), it reflects Charles Heidsieck’s unwavering commitment to the art of time and blending.
An Exceptional Blend for a Distinctive Rosé Signature
Rosé Réserve is the result of a carefully orchestrated blend in which freshness and structure coexist in perfect harmony:
- 40% Pinot Noir, providing structure, density, and aromatic depth.
- 35% Chardonnay, contributing elegance, tension, and a distinctive chalky character.
- 25% Meunier, bringing suppleness, roundness, and vibrant fruit aromas.
The blend incorporates up to 35% reserve wines, with an average age of five years, adding complexity, richness, and depth to the cuvée. It is further enhanced by 5–6% red wine made from Pinot Noir sourced from Les Riceys, lending additional character and color. Careful parcel-by-parcel vinification and a precise dosage reinforce the distinctive style and precision of this champagne.
Tasting Notes
Appearance
A delicate powder-pink hue with luminous wild-rose reflections. The mousse is fine and persistent, reflecting an extended 48-month ageing on lees in the chalk cellars.
Nose
An expressive and complex bouquet, opening with aromas of candied strawberry and vine peach, followed by warm notes of gingerbread and homemade fruit preserves as the wine aerates.
Palate
The palate is broad, rich, and generous. Flavors evoke a sabayon of strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, wrapped in a creamy texture reminiscent of whipped cream. The finish is smooth, lingering, and elegant.
