Don Julio 1942 tequila is a luxury tequila from Mexico. It is produced with passion in small quantities and aged at least 2.5 years in oak casks in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Don Julio 1942 is produced in homage to the year Don Julio González began producing tequila. Its exceptional smoothness comes from a longer maturation process and a production based on hand-harvested blue agave grown for six to ten years. An amber gold with aromas of caramel and chocolate and a palate of oak, vanilla, and lingering grilled agave. Don Julio 1942 is best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass. It also lends itself very well to selective cocktails. The bottle is a little jewel. A superb original gift.
